by HorseRacing FLA staff

Gulfstream Park has a 10-race card Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24th.

First post is at 12:10 p.m. in Hallandale Beach, Fla, continuing the Champion’s Meet that started December 1st.

One handicap race, the H. Allen Jerkens, will be race 6 at 2:35 PM. It’s a $100,000 race for 3 year-olds. This race was postponed from last Saturday when heavy rains cancelled 3 races .Value Engineering at 9:5 is the favorite for the 2 mile turf jaunt.

In Saturday’s racing action, 6 favorites won on the day, and just two in the last 6 races made for higher payouts. Nine to one and 12:1 wins in two of the Stakes races hampered the bettors in the multiple race bets. The Rainbow 6 jackpot was hit on Friday paying $324,724 to a single winner. Still, that bet attracted $892,105 in new money on Saturday, resulting in about 110 winners paid $6,399.76 each.
