11 Races at Gulfstream Saturday; Carry Back Stakes

by HorseRacing FLA staff
Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card Saturday, June 24th.

First post is at 12:50 PM in Hallandale Beach, Fla. Last call to the gate: 5:57 PM.
There is one stakes race, the Carry Back, with a 4:25 PM post time. It’s a $75,000 purse race on the dirt for 3 y/olds at 7 furlongs. Swirvin is 5:2 and Super Chow is 9:5 in the morning line odds in the 7 entry field.

In Friday’s race action, 64 starters left the gate with Tearduc being the long-odds (9.4:1) win on the day. Interesting finish here in race 4. It was the fillies first career start, winning by one length. Tearduc also led the race at every call, gate-to-wire, earning $45,000 for the win. There oughta be an award for that performance! Kentucky Derby (2022) winner Sonny Leon was in the saddle. Congratulations!  The $2 wager paid $20.80 on the win.

The Rainbow 6 wager carries over from Friday where about 30 bettors collected $1,174.60 each. Saturday’s Rainbow 6 races start in race 6 at approximately 3:22 PM. There’s a $99,482 carryover on the day. Gulfstream also announced a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 on June 30th. We’ll handicap that next week.

Four favorites won Friday, three in the last 6 races. The winning program numbers were: 6-4-5-6-3/5-4 for the Rainbow 6.

Total all-sources track handle was $4.04 million Friday, along with a $297,000 purse size.

See you in the winners circle !
