Thursday’s Gulfstream Racing; 2 Carryovers

Gulfstream Park has a 9-race card Thursday. First post is 12:10 PM.

No stakes races are on the card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:40 PM. That carryover stands at $435,618 as we enter the 12th day of the carryover on this wager since the mandatory payout on January 29th. Gulfstream is setting a $600,000 guaranteed gross pool Thursday if the jackpot is hit.

In Wednesday’s racing, 42 winners collected $1,733.16 each in the Rainbow 6, on a betting pool of $132,362. The wager paid on 5 of 6 as no bettor had all 6 winners correct. 6-5-8-2-6-6 was the program winning horses.

Fifty-two runners entered the gates for the Rainbow. The long-odds winner was 18:1 in race #9, when Free to Roam came alive winning by a neck.  The favorite Run for Cover (3:1) finished 7th. National Unity in the 4th race won also with 11.7:1 odds.

The late Pick 5 paid a huge $14,621, as that wager did not include race 4 cited above. Seventeen bettors got that right.

The Super High 5 wager also has a carryover of $2,284 Thursday, most likely in race 1. The $1 wager is run every race that gates 7 or more starters. That wager has an 18% take-out.

Total all-sources track handle was $5.88 million Wednesday, while the purse size was $350,000.
