Friday’s Gulfstream Racing; Two Carryovers

Gulfstream Park will run eight races Friday, with a first post at 1:05 p.m.

Two carryovers are slated. The Rainbow 6, at $506,478, and the Super Hi-5 at $2,256.. The Rainbow 6 wager is on races 3 to 8, with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:14 p.m.

Gulfstream is setting a guaranteed gross pool of $700,000 Friday if the wagering + carryover are less than that.

Thursday’s racing was one for the record-books.

First, no post time favorites won their races. That is rare. No favorite finished better than third (Show). Next, huge payouts were made on the Pick 5 and Rainbow 6. The early and late Pick-5 bets paid $25,514 and $40,506 respectively. No favorites winning was the cause of that. The high-odds winner at 14.7:1 in race 5 included BOTH the early and late Pick 5 bets. Our data shows about 9 winners on the early Pick 5 and three winners on the late Pick 5. Fifty-One horses raced in the Rainbow 6.

The Rainbow 6 paid $30,274.74 to three lucky patrons. The winning program numbers were: 8-5-3-5-10-2.

Betting on the Rainbow 6 was $162,234, and all sources track handle was $3.93 million Thursday. Stay tuned for some potentially crazy racing action again Friday.
