Gulfstream Park will have eight races on Thursday, with first post at 1:05 p.m.
The only carryover is on the Rainbow 6, at $34,473. The 20 cents per combination-only bet is on races three to eight, with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:11 p.m.
Gulfstream is guaranteeing that Thursday’s Rainbow 6 will have a $50,000 gross pool of the entire coming in carryover plus all of today’s Rainbow 6 bets – to be paid if there is just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.
If there are multiple tickets with all six winning horses, Gulfstream will take out 20 percent. It will then divide 56 percent among tickets with six winners and add 24 percent to the carryover.
On the last race day, Sunday, there were 85 Rainbow 6 winners, paid $948.66 on the 20 cent bet. There were no 6 of 6 winners, so the payout rolled down to 5 of 6. Lavery in the 8th race won at 23:1; that no doubt was the knock-out punch to a 6 of 6 win day.
Betting on the Rainbow 6 was $143,679, while total all-sources handle was $9.15 million.
