There are ten races on the Tampa program today, the first Post time is scheduled for 12:15 PM. The weather is cloudy with some slight showers. So far, the track conditions have not been affected.
The Downs has live racing every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (except Easter), until closing day on May 7.
Saturday’s feature, Race 6, brings together a field of well bred sophomore Fillies at a grassy mile under $26,000 Maiden Special conditions. Many of these could be Stakes caliber in the future.
Post time is 2:43, live coverage on RadioStPete.com, including the call from track announcer Jason Beem starts at 2:40.
STANDUP COMEDIENNE (9) is a live longshot (20/1) who may be able to upset this field as she runs on the lawn for the first time. It appears that there is a lack of early speed in this field and this Filly could get loose on the lead and not get caught. Trainer Jon Arnett worked her on January 18, a blazing 47.2 at four panels. Also, if the weather causes this race to move to the main track, all the better.
THE BET: $10 win and place on STANDUP COMEDIENNE (9) and a $2 three horse exacta box with CONSISTENTLY (2) and DREAM NORTH (7). 2,7,9
Total Bet $32 Good Luck!
