Gulfstream Park will run 10 races today, with a first post time of 12:00 PM. One stakes race is planned: The Mr. Prospector in race 10. We’ll report on that in a new post soon.
With few exceptions, the Championship meet will race 5 days a week (Wednesday through Sunday) until the meet ends in early April.
In Friday’s racing action, 48 starters competed in the last 6 races (Rainbow-6), and 61 winners of that wager each collected $1,169.28. Three favorites won in the Rainbow, but a 24:1 odds won race 4 — the first leg.
The Rainbow 6 carryover today is $203,886 as it enters day 8 of this wager’s carryover. The last jackpot payout hit November 20th. The Super Hi-5 also has a carryover of $3,762. It should be wagered in race 1, but 7 starters are needed for that wager; the field is 8 now. Track handle was $5.92 million Friday.
Race 6 kicks off the Rainbow 6 sequence, slated to start at approximately 2:28 PM.
Starting this meet, Gulfstream’s horses now race on three surfaces: Dirt, Turf, and Tapeta; the artificial ALL WEATHER TRACK (AWT). Good Luck!
