Gulfstream: Rainbow 6 Payout on Saturday Starts With Carryover of Over $1 Million

Gulfstream Park will have a carryover of $1,048,970 on its Rainbow 6 on Saturday.

Officials of the Hallandale Beach, Fla., track anticipate that about $5 million will be bet on the Rainbow 6.

The attraction is a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 jackpot–no matter  the number of tickets with the winning horses in all six races.

First post on Saturday will be at 12:10 p.m. for a 12-race card.

The Rainbow 6 will be on races seven to twelve, with the sequence scheduled to start at 3:10 p.m. It is a 20 cents per combination-only bet.

The jackpot is made up of the entire coming in carryover and 80 percent of the day’s new Rainbow 6 bet.

Gulfstream usually makes that payout only when there is just one ticket with all six winners.

On non-mandatory days with multiple winning tickets, Gulfstream takes out 20 percent of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet.  It then divides 56 percent among tickets with six winners and adds 24 percent  to the carryover.

On Friday there were 127 tickets with six winners. Each ticket paid $1,711.24on a 20 cent bet.

Winning program numbers thus far were 7-7-4-6-5-8.

The carryover coming in was $955,623. Bettors added $389,025 to the pool.

It was the 13th straight day with multiple winning tickets.  That led to the growth of the carryover to more than $1 million.

The first race has a $4,650 carryover on the Super Hi-5.  It is $20,000 claiming race at one mile on turf for 3-YOs.
