GP West: Fast & Firm Friday, With Two Carryovers

The  Gulfstream Park West meet has two carryovers on its Friday card, which has eight races and first post at 12:00 p.m.

Conditions are  listed as Fast and Firm at Calder in Miami Gardens, the site of the GP West meet. The Weather  Channel forecast is for a 15 percent  chance of rain during racing hours.

The first race has a carryover of $2,499 on the Super Hi-5.

The Rainbow 6 carryover, now four race days old, is $41,756.  The 20 cents per combination-only bet is on races three to eight, with the sequence scheduled to start at 1:10 p.m.

* GP West has added Monday Oct. 12, which is Columbus Day, to its live racing schedule.

Per its regular schedule, GP West has racing this Friday, Saturday and Sunday

* The GP West meet is closed to spectators and does not have any live betting on site.

At its track in Hallandale Beach, Gulfstream has its north tent area open on GP West race days for simulcast betting on those races and on other tracks that are part of its regular simulcast menu.

Betting on Gulfstream West races may be done on most Advance Deposit Wagering (ADW) Internet and phone services. Many sports books, race tracks and OTB offices have simulcasting on GP West races.

Tampa Bay Downs, Hialeah Park and Pompano Park are among Florida pari-mutuels that carry the GP West simulcast schedule.
