Jaramillo Leads in Wins, But is Down 4 Days

HRFLA Staff Report

Going into Thursday’s race card, Emisael Jaramillo (photo  on home page) has 97 victories in Gulfstream Park’s spring/summer meet.

That gives him a one-win edge in the jockey standings over Edgard Zayas and Miguel Vasquez who are tied for second place.

But Zayas and Vasquez will have chances to take the lead during Gulfstream’s four racing days that begin today.

Jaramillo will not ride on any of those days due to what Gulfstream stewards determined was a recent infraction.

Zayas has mounts in all nine Thursday races, and Vasquez has mounts in seven of those races.

Thursday is the 83rd day of Gulfstream’s 107-day  spring/summer meet, which is scheduled to end Sept. 27.
