Fast and Firm at Gulfstream and Saratoga

The headline sets the stage for an exciting day of spectator-less racing at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla., and at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

We will have coverage of both tracks on our blog https://insidefloridahorseracing.blogspot.com/ which may be accessed on the menu bar at the top of the home page of this Web site.

It is “Travers Day” at Saratoga, and in this year of corona-virus driven changes the 1 1/4 mile Travers Stakes (Grade 1) is a prep race for the Kentucky Derby (Grade 1) that will be run on Sept. 5.

The Travers is the 11th race at Saratoga, with scheduled post at 6:15 p.m.

The eight-horse field is headed by Tiz the Law–the winner of this year’s Florida Derby (Grade 1) at Gulfstream and of the Belmont Stakes (Grade 1) at Belmont Park.
