GP West Back on Turf for Sunday

The dirt track is listed as  Fast and the turf course is listed as Good for Sunday at the Gulfstream Park West  meet, held at Calder in Miami Gardens.

That is good news for fans and horsemen following a string of rainy days in South Florida.

In each of the last four race days, meet sponsor Gulfstream Park has taken at least one race  off the turf due to rain or other wet conditions.

First post is  at 1:20 p.m., with no stakes races but with a Rainbow 6 carryover of $861,912.

Skies are clear and the Weather Channel forecast is for a zero  percent chance of rain during racing hours.

The first, third, fifth and seventh races are scheduled for turf.

The Rainbow 6, a 20-cents per combination only bet, will be on races three to eight with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:20 p.m.
