Gulftream’s Wednesday Racing at 1:15 Post

Gulfstream Park has added this Wednesday, Sept. 25 to its live racing schedule.

The Gulfstream Wednesday card lists eight races, none of them stakes, with a first post at 1:15 p.m.

It is the first  of five straight live race days that will finish Gulfstream’s summer meet (details below).
The Wednesday card was not on Gulfstream’s original schedule. The Hallandale Beach Fla., track added it to partially offset the handle and race purses from September 1-2 as hurricane Dorian was posing a threat to the Miami – Fort Lauderdale (Broward County) areas.

A Rainbow 6 carryover of $1,852,653 looms large on the day. That 20-cent only bet is on races three to eight with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m.

The carryover has grown because Gulfstream has gone 45 straight race days wthout the jackpot  payoff requirement of just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow races.

The jackpot consists of the entire Rainbow 6 carryover plus 80% of the day’s new bets,  before the 20% takeout by the track owner.

Sunday the 29th will be a mandatory payout day for the Rainbow 6, and Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 wagers if applicable.

In last Sunday’s racing action, 96 starters competed for $274,000 in purse money. Four favorites crossed the wire, while three 7:1 or higher winners set up 11 Rainbow 6 winners for $19,508 each.

Forty-Nine entries are listed for the last 6 races Wednesday.

Besides the Rainbow 6 jackpot mentioned above, the Super Hi-5 carryover will be $2,482 no doubt in race 1 Wednesday.

Good Luck!
