Racing resumes Wednesday at Gulfstream Park, with 11 races scheduled (7 turf) and a 1:15 PM EDT first post. With Daylight Saving time ending, GP’s post times will be later due to the increased light-time (good for handicappers if you are a late-riser). There are no stakes races planned today. Last post time will be about 6:20 PM. GP plans for this 1:15 PM first post for it’s Wed., Thurs., Friday race days the rest of this meet. We’ll update you if this changes.
Sixty Eight bettors collected $4,125 each on the winning Rainbow wager. Just 2 favorites won in the last 6 races, and a 8:1 and 11:1 win in the 9th and 10th races made the carryover grow by $121,557 for today.
Bettors added $506,491 the Rainbow 6 pool Sunday, a whopper handle on that wager for a Sunday card.
The late Pick 4 paid $486 on the minimum 50 cent bet.
The late Pick 5 paid just $4,276, more than the Rainbow 6, showing us that a more conservative bet may be the Pick 5 as it pays a consolidation prize for 4 of 5 winners. That was $24.15 on Sunday.
Total handle was $11.56 million.
