Gulfstream Park kicks off this weeks horse racing with its Wednesday card. Ten races are planned with a first post time of 12:30 PM, and a last post of 5:12 PM.
In-between, look for some soggy, wet weather as the forecast calls for 85% to 100% chance of rain in Hallandale, with 10-15 knot winds. That no doubt will toss some of the 6 planned turf races onto the main track. Races 1,3,5,7,8 and 10 are scheduled for the turf.
93 starters are planned, but that no doubt will be cut down with the scratches. The carryovers for today include the Super Hi-5 at $9,580, which should be an available wager in race 1 with 12 entrants. The Rainbow 6 enters day two in this cycle, with a $36,579 carryover.
We expect a couple upsets as the races are taken off the turf if the wet conditions dictate. 59 starters are planned in the last 6 races, so that could get whittled down to maybe 50, making for tough handicapping.
