Gulfstream West; Sunday’s Recap

Gulfstream Park West ran 11 races Sunday, under cloudy weather and sloppy track conditions. All 5 turf races were moved to the dirt track.

Despite the 36 scratches (26 off the turf), 6 races were won by the favorite, and the long-odds horse on the day was Forty’s Sweetheart at 20:1 in race 9 winning by 2 lengths.

The late races resulted in decent payouts: $457 on the Pick-4, $3,223 for the Pick-5, and $2,715 on the Rainbow 6. Fifty three starters ran the last 6 races; 46 for the Pick-5. Eight tickets cashed the Rainbow 6 winning wager.

Wednesday’s sole carryover will be $23,830 on the Rainbow 6.
