HorseRacingFLA Staff Report
Due to heavy rain from Tropical Storm Gordon, Gulfstream Park has moved all five of Monday’s scheduled-for-turf races to the dirt track that is listed as Sloppy and is sealed.
Those races are the first, third, fifth, ninth and twelfth.
First post is 12:45 p.m. for the 12-race card at Gulfstream in Hallandale Beach, Fla.—about halfway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
We will have updates, including scratches, on our blog which can be accessed on the menu bar at the top of the home page of this Web site.
At 10:30 a.m,, heavy rain is falling throughout the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, and forecasts call for it to continue into the early evening.
After Gordon crosses the southern end of the Florida peninsula, it will intensify as it heads into the Gulf of Mexico and moves toward expected landfall in Louisiana or Mississippi.
