Friday’s Racing at Gulfstream. $136,000 Carryover

Friday’s racing at Gulfstream will get underway with its 2:00 PM first post.

Nine races are scheduled, with 70 starters expected to run. Just one carryover will start the day; the Rainbow 6 will weigh in with a $136,733 jackpot if a single winner emerges.

Thursday’s action on it’s 9 races saw four favorites winning their races, and the a very small payout on the Rainbow 6 wager. An estimated 95 winners each making $394. That was the lowest payout since July 6th, when 141 winners took home $390. The Rainbow 6 pool was larger than we forecast – at $66,392; well above recent Thursday’s.

The higest odds winner among the 6 races was 4.7:1 in race 5, thus the low payout.

Friday’s weather is estimated to yield a 40-55% chance of rain during the race day, so watch the scratches and off-turf changes. The 46 expected starters for the Rainbow could be whittled down to perhaps 40 starters.

The Hallandale, Fla. race track will end it’s summer meet in just 10 race days, on September 30th. There will be a mandatory payout that weekend, if no jackpot is hit before then.
