Post positions were drawn on Tuesday for the 144th Kentucky Derby horse race to be run Saturday, May 5th at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY.
Justify, an unbeaten colt trained by Bob Baffert, drew post 7 and was installed as the 3:1 morning line favorite.
The morning line indicates what Churchill odds-maker Mike Battaglia expects what the odds will be on the horses when they enter the starting gate.
The scheduled post time for the race is 6:50 PM ET Saturday. The race runs 1-1/4 mile on the dirt.
The field caps out at 20 horses. Other low-odds horses include Mendelssohn at 5:1 who won the UAE Derby in Dubai.
Magnum Moon at 6:1 won the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park.
Audible, at 8:1 won the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park.
