The Gulfstream Park West meet has an 11-race card on Sunday, with first post of 12:00 p.m
As of 11:00 a.m., track conditions were not available.
The feature tenth race is six furlongs on dirt for Florida-bred fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.
It is a $12,500 optional claimer with a $37,000 purse. We will have a preview early this afternoon on our blog, which can be accessed on the menu bar at the top off the home page of this Web site.
There is a carryover of $67,077 on the Rainbow 6. It is on races six to eleven.
On the first race, there is a Super Hi-5 carryover $2,278.
*Emisael Jaramillo rode two winners at the Gulfstream Park West meet on Saturday, giving him 48 at the meet that is run at Calder in Miami Gardens.
Jaramillo has 48 victories through 36 days of the 40-day meet that will end Nov. 26.
Edgard Zayas is second with 38 victories. He was winless on Saturday’s card. He led jockeys in wins at GP West in 2005 and 2006.
Jose Batista had one winner on Saturday, giving him 20 for the meet and moving him into sole possession of third place.
Tyler Gaffalione and Aby Medina are tied for fourth with 19 wins each. Gaffalione led jockeys in wins at this year’s Gulfstream Park spring and summer meets.
Gaffalione has been riding at tracks on other than Gulfstream on many weekend days.
On Saturday, he was at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.
In his only race, he rode Fair Point who lost by a nose to Tricky Escape in the $100,000 Cardinal Handicap (Grade 3) for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. Because of rain, the 1 1/8 mile race was moved from turf to dirt
