Brandy’s Girl Out to Again “Beat the Boys” at GP

A pair of $50,000 stakes races is the features on Sunday’s 12-race card at Gulfstream Park.

First post is 12:45 p.m.

The day’s biggest focus will be on the $50,000 Tamiami Handicap at five furlongs on turf.

In the  Tamiami, the 4-year-old filly Brandy’s Girl will be seeking her third straight win in a Gulfstream race that  includes males.

Brandy’s Girl “beat the boys” in a $62,500 optional claiming race on July 23 and in the $50,000 Jupiter Beach Handicap on Aug. 20.  Both races were five furlongs on turf.

Luca Panici, who rode Brandy’s Girl in the  Jupiter Beach,  has the return mount  for  trainer-owner Edwin Broome.

Extravagant Kid and Successful Native likely will be among betting favorites, along with Brandy’s Girl.

Brandy’s Girl is the only female  among the eleven entrants in the Tamiami.

The Tamiami is the tenth race with scheduled post of 5:30 p.m,

The ninth race is the $50,000 Perfect Season at one mile on dirt for 3-year-olds and up.  Scheduled post is 4:58 p.m.
