Gulfstream Starts Fast and Firm for Sunday

The dirt track is listed as Muddy and the turf course is listed as Firm at Gulfstream Park as it prepares for Sunday’s 12-race card.

First post is at 12:45 p.m.

On Sunday morning, light rain was falling at Gulfstream in Hallandale Beach and in many other parts of South Florida.  The Weather Channel forecast for Hallandale Beach  is for a 40 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms through  4:00 p.m.

The third, fifth, seventh, ninth and 11th races are scheduled for turf–all with the rail at 96 feet.

*The Gulfstream feature race on Sunday is the $50,000 Jupiter Beach Handicap, at five furlongs on turf for 3-year-olds and up.

It is the fifth race with scheduled post of 2:49  p.m.

*There is a carryover of $46,713 on the Late Pick 5. Sunday, on races eight to 12.

*There will be a new pool on the Rainbow 6, on races seven  to 12.

 There was one winning ticket on the Rainbow 6 aon Saturday, and it paid $259,573.34 on the 20-cent per combination only bet. In fact, that ticket was an amazingly low 40 cents. Details are in a story on our blog.
