Gulfstream Starting Out Fast and Firm

Thoroughbred racing is back at Gulfstream Park on Thursday, with a ten-race card and first post of 1:15 p.m.

The dirt is listed as fast and the turf is listed as firm.

All of the even-numbered races are scheduled for turf, with the rail set for 96 feet.

The Weather Channel forecast is for a chance of thunderstorms ranging between 40 percent and 50 percent during racing hours.

The carryover on the Rainbow 6 is $251,865. It is on races five to ten.

The feature ninth race is one mile on dirt for fillies and mares three-years-old and up. It is a $12,500 optional claimer with a $37,000 purse. The seven-horse field is headed by Rashette, trained by Kathleen O’Connell and to be ridden by Eduardo Nunez.
