Starting this week we will be sharing important information via our Guide to the Florida Sire Stakes 2017.

The series will begin Saturday Aug. 5th at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida.

Our Guide to the Florida Sire Stakes 2017 will be sent to your inbox this Friday, August 4th.

The August 5th races will be the $100,000 Dr. Fager at six furlongs  on dirt for 2-year-old males and the $100,000 Desert Vixen at six furlongs on dirt for 2-year-old fillies.

The Sire Stakes races are open only to sons and daughters of Florida-registered stallions whose owners have paid fees to make those stallions eligible for the program.

The Sires Stakes is co-ordinated by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners Association.

The  series will  continue  on Sept. 2 with the  $200,000 Affirmed at seven furlongs  on dirt for  males and the $200,000  Susan’s Girl at seven furlongs on dirt for fillies.  The series will conclude on Sept. 30 with the $400,000 In Reality at 1 1/16 miles on dirt  for males and the $400,000 My Dear Girl at 1 1/16 miles on dirt for fillies.

The Sire Stakes has been a starting point for numerous Florida-breds that have gone on to become national stars.

Smile, Holy Bull,  Awesome Feather, Big Drama and Jackson Bend are prominent on that list.
