Gulfstream Park has a nine-race card on Thursday, with first post of 1:15 p.m.
The feature is the sixth race. It is a one-mile turf allowance/optional claimer for 3-year-olds and up. The purse is $44,000 and the optional claiming price is $62,500. It is the sixth race with scheduled post of 3:58 p.m.
Two Step Time and Quiet Force, both trained by Mike Maker, are likely favorites in a seven-horse field.
Two Step Time’s last ten races have been stakes. The 4-year-old colt finished third or better in three of them. That includes a third place finish in the 1 1/16 mile Tropical Park Derby at Gulfstream last Dec 30.
Emisael Jaramillo will ride Two Step Time, owned by Get Away Farm.
Quiet Force has finished third or better in six of his eleven turf starts at Gulfstream. That includes three victories.
Tyler Gaffalione will ride Quiet Force, a non-gelded 7-year-old owned by Rev it Up Racing and Imaginary Stables.
Bashart (Patrick Biancone-Anthony Crastus) and the late-running J R’s Holiday (Henry Collazo-Martin Ramirez) are main threats to the Maker horses.
The Thursday card has a Rainbow 6 carryover of $42,412, on races four through nine.
Conditions are listed as fast and firm. The Weather Channel forecast is for less than a 25 percent chance of rain during racing hours.
