The Gulfstream Park West meet has a nine-race card on Thursday with first post of 1:15 p.m.

Conditions are fast for the main track and firm for the turf.

The carryover on the Rainbow 6 is $6,245.  It is on races four through nine.

Wednesday Results

Russian Greek took the early lead. led at every call and went on to beat Vees Boy by 4 3/4 lengths in Wednesday’s seventh and feature race at the Gulfstream Park West meet.

Enders Cat finished third, 5 1/4 lengths behind Vees Boy, in the race at Calder. The race had five starters, following the morning scratch of Verger.

Russian Greek won the 1 1/16 mile dirt race in 1:44.24 on the track listed as fast. That is a fast time for Calder.

The race, for 3-year-olds and up, was an allowance with a $34.000 purse and  a $16,000 optional claiming  price. No horses were claimed out  of the race.

Russian Greek was the even-money favorite. Vees Boy was the 9-5 second choice and Enders Cat was 4-1.

The $2 exacta paid $10.60 and the $2 trifecta paid $23.20.

Lane Luzzi rode Russian Greek for trainer Efran Loza Jr.

The win was the ninth in 42 career starts for Russian Greek, a non-gelded 7-year-old.  He began his career in  California, and in 2012 won the ungraded California Derby  at Golden Gate Fields.

Edgard Zayas rode Vees Boy, a three-year-old trained by Todd Pletcher.
