Gaffalione Takes Off Mounts for Second Day

HorseracingFLA Staff Report

Jockey Tyler Gaffalione has taken off all of his scheduled mounts on Friday at Gulfstream Park.

First post is 1:15 p.m. for the ten-race card.

Gaffalione did not ride any of his scheduled mounts on Thursday, due to what Gulfstream officials said was a “family issue.” Gaffalione was scheduled to ride in nine races on Friday.  Gulfstream’s scratch list, released late Friday morning, show that all of his mounts have a rider change or  have been scratched.

A list of  those changes may be found on the Web sites of Equibase and of Gulfstream—two sites bookmarked by many people who read a story such as this—and on the Web sites of many Advance  Deposit Wagering services.

Gaffalione leads Gulfstream jockeys in summer meet wins, with  34 through the first 17 race days.

Emisael Jaramillo is second, with 21 wins.  He has five mounts on Friday’s card.

*On Friday, the Rainbow 6 carryover is $217,246. It is on races five through ten.
