HorseracingFLA Staff Report
Gulfstream Park has a nine-race card on Thursday, with first post of 1:15 p.m.
The dirt track is listed as fast and the turf is listed as firm.
Five races (the odd numbered ones) are scheduled for turf. The Weather Channel forecast is for a ten percent chance of rain in Hallandale Beach where Gulfstream is located.
The featured eighth race is a $44,000 allowance at seven furlongs on dirt for 3-year-olds and up.
Three of the six entrants last raced on July 2 in the Carry Back (Grade 3) at Gulfstream, at seven furlongs on dirt for 3-year-olds.
Bullet Gone Astray, Dream of Me and Li’l Meatball finished third, fourth and sixth respectively in the Carry Back. Each of those horses won a stakes race in 2015, as two-year-olds.
The other three entrants also have raced in stakes at Gulfstream, without wins. They are Looks Good, At the Ready and Phish Fan.
The race is a $35,000 optional claimer. Phish Fan is the only horse in for a tag.
On Thursday afternoon we will have a preview on our bloghttp://insidefloridahorseracing.blogspot.com.tr/
Rainbow 6
On Thursday the carryover is $130,147 on the Rainbow 6 on the fourth through ninth races. It is a 20-cent only bet, per combination. A ticket can have multiple horses in each race, and thus multiple combinations.
Gulfstream pays out the jackpot of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet (minus 20 percent takeout) only on days when there is just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow six races.
On days with multiple winning tickets, Gulfstream divides 56 percent of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet among those tickets and adds 24 percent to the carryover.
Remainder of Week
