Long Lines to Get Into Churchill Downs
HorseRacing FLA staff
If you are going to Churchill Downs on Saturday, be prepared to move up your arrival time for the Kentucky Derby and its undercard races.
Our sources who are at Churchill Downs for Kentucky Oaks day tell us that lines to get in is taking much longer to get into the track than in recent years. That is because Churchill Downs has beefed up its security due to increased concerns about terrorist threats.
Anyone getting in through general admission has to get in a line to buy a ticket for $40, then get in another line to get into the track.
In previous years, the admission price was $40 – but with just one line and no tickets.
