While reporting from Tampa Bay Downs race track, this reporter was surprised to find such a wonderful and delicious deli on the ground floor of the clubhouse. It’s METRO DELI, where owners Geoffrey and Valeria serve up pizza, subs, and multiple varieties of tasty sandwiches (Cuban, Pastrami, Roast Beef, etc.) at affordable prices.
The area adjacent to their outpost offers ample seating to sit and handicap the races from Tampa Bay and other simulcast feeds from tracks far and near.
I strongly recommend a visit to there on your next trek to the track. You won’t be disappointed. The deli is open race days until the close of the current meet, May 8th, and then open Saturday’s thereafter to serve the simulcast and poker patrons.
