Friday Racing: New 1:15 p.m. GP First Post; Nine Races at Tampa Bay

Gulfstream Park has an eight-race program today, with a new daily first post time of 1:15 p.m.

Gulfstream’s first post had been 12:55 p.m. for the past several weeks.

There is a carryover today of $156,106 on the Rainbow 6, starting on the third race.

Tampa Bay Downs has a nine-race card today with first post of 12:50 p.m.

Trainer Kathleen O’Connell goes into the day with 1,799 wins. She has four horses entered—all at Tampa Bay.  Teufles and Roses, in the second, will be her first chance to hit the 1,800 mark.

*Unless otherwise noted, Gulfstream’s first post will be 1:15 p.m. for at least several weeks,

Exceptions will be on Friday May 6 and Saturday May  7—when Gulfstream will simulcast the Kentucky Oaks, the Kentucky Derby and their undercard races at Churchill Downs.

Gulfstream will have several of its own early races, because many fans, will arrive early for Churchill Downs races, and to finish its races prior to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.

On Friday May 6, Churchill Downs’ first post is 10:30 a.m. and post time for the Kentucky Oaks is 5:49 p.m.

On Saturday May 7, Churchill Downs; first post is 10:30 a.m. and post time for the Kentucky Derby  is 6:34 p.m.
