By HorseracingFLA Staff

Sunday, July 26 – My Point Exactly and  Kiss to Remember were the winners in Saturday’s stakes races at  Gulfstream Park.

My Point Exactly (number  5 on inside in photo) dueled with Rizwan almost the entire race and beat that rival by a head in the $75,000  Bear’s Den at 1 1/16 miles on  turf for 3-year-olds.  Good and Proper rallied  to finish third, three-quarters of a length behind Rizwan.

Juan Leyva rode My Point Exactly, the 3-2 favorite, who won in 1:43.20.  The race was run in a light  rain  on a course listed as firm.

The win was the third in a stakes, all on turf, for My Point Exactly who is trained by Bill Kaplan and owned by Pinnacle Racing and Norman Racing Stables,

“He’s a game son of a gun, because every race he runs on the turf, he wins by no more than a neck, and this one was about a head, so it was a great, great effort,” Kaplan said “He knows where the wire is, that horse. That’s what Juan just told me.”

The Florida-bred gelded son of Concord Point had registered turf victories in the King Cugat Stakes at Gulfstream in June and the Sunday Silence Stakes at Louisiana Downs last fall.

My Point  Exactly also has run in several dirt stakes, without a victory.

“We’re going to stay on the grass now,” Kaplan  said.

He said he will consider the $200,000 Centaur Stakes at Indiana Downs in Shelbyville, Ind., on Sept, 9 as the next race for My Point Exactly.  The Centaur is one mile on turf for 3-year-olds.

* Kiss to Remember took the lead entering the stretch and pulled ahead to beat Lemon Point, the early leader,  by 6 1/2 lengths in the $75,000 Monroe Handicap. The race was one mile on  dirt for fillies  and  mares 3-years-old and up. Kiss to Remember covered the distance in 1:37.02.

Apprentice Harry Hernandez rode Kiss to Remember, for his first stakes win.

Kiss to  Remember is owned by Miller Racing and is  trained by Marty Wolfson.

* Gulfstream will have eleven races today  with first post of  1:15  p.m. There are no stakes races on the card.

There is a $51,348.74 carryover on the Rainbow 6,  on  the sixth through 11th races.
