Friday, June 19– Gulfstream Park will have nine races today with a first post time of 1:00 p.m.
There are no stakes races. But there is the attraction of a carryover of $209,150.37 on the Rainbow 6 bet on the day’s last six races.
Today’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span races four to nine, starting at 2:30 p.m.
The bet is 20-cents only per combination. Bettors can have multiple horses per race and thus multiple combinations.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot (the day’s pool plus carryover) is paid out only when there is a single ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Following a mandatory payout held on May 22, there have been no days with a single winning ticket for 17 straight racing programs.
Multiple tickets were sold on Thursday’s 2-1-7-4-4-9 combination, each worth $996.32 on the wager that spanned races three to eight.
On Saturday, Gulfstream will have two stakes races with $60,000 purses.
The King Cugat is 1 1/16 miles on turf for 3-year-olds. The Barely Even is one mile on dirt for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.
